TRAINS IN CARLETON PLACE

Trains through the town of Carleton Place were many. Now all gone in 2013, Canadian Pacific Railway had a Transcontinental rail line which began

in Smiths Falls. During peak times in the past, CPR & VIA would arrive at the station in Carleton Place built between 1921 & 1922 and take the

appropriate track to either Smiths Falls with CPR (Freight) or towards the mainline VIA (Passenger).
